After each bachelor has three women, they go to a "Speed Round" to narrow down the selection, and then it's narrowed down again from two to one.
A dream date (and possibly a lifetime of romantic bliss) follows.
I can already hear the theme music in my mind (This is The Choice! Fox doesn't seem to be making any apologies about the similarities between the NBC singing competition The Voice and their new show The Choice.
In fact, they seem to dive head first into it with the teaser they released in addition to the announcement: So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley is set to host the series, which debuts on Thursday, June 7 (- PM ET/PT).
The format of the program, which utilizes a format similar to the blind audition rounds of The Voice, features three stages of competition and involves four single celebrity contestants (usually male; the opposite, featuring four female celebrities, also occasionally occurs), competing to fill teams of three possible dates.
The first is the blind audition, in which four contestants listen to potential dates give their first impression while the celebrities' chairs are turned around as to not see them.
The premise is the same as The Voice, but instead of singing, women blindly shout their best qualities at the men hoping that they'll spin their chair around (indicating they'd like togo on a date).
"This seemed like the perfect way to do it," Darnell says of the spinning chairs gimmick. Each celebrity bachelor will eventually pick three women — which is when teams enter a "Speed Choice" round, and contestants must convince her celeb why she should be in the final round. Two contestants per celeb are left for the final round, in which they'll be asked to answer a question.Once the chairs are turned, looks become a deciding factor (in this case, the deciding factor), and you won’t need anything as complicated as a scorecard to predict the guys’ picks.Which doesn’t mean you don’t have choices yourself.
